# Critique Mode

Trigger: “Analyze this.” A URL, screenshot, HTML, or design reference.

Do **not** recreate the interface.

Return, in order:

1. **What works?**
2. **Why does it work?**
3. **What is the underlying design principle?**
4. **What interaction language is being used?**
5. **What motion language is being used?**
6. **What information architecture is being used?**
7. **What patterns can be extracted?** (named, abstract, reusable)
8. **What could be reused elsewhere?**
9. **What should NOT be copied?** (brand, content, gimmicks, context-specific chrome)
10. **What experiments should we build?**

Keep [observation and interpretation](../DESIGN_CONSTITUTION.md) in separate sections.

If the specimen is stored, write it with [`references/_template.md`](../references/_template.md). Do not overwrite a previous analysis; add a dated note or a new version.
