01

The problem

Information is becoming abundant. The interfaces that followed became noisier.

Capture is cheap. Computation is cheap. What is scarce is attention, and the judgment of what deserves it.

02

The response

Therefore the interface should become quieter.

Less to look at. More room to think. The page should contain nothing unnecessary, and nothing essential should be missing.

03

The philosophy

In the AI era, a personal knowledge system should feel like MUJI: restrained, functional, calm.

AI increases the amount of information and computation available to one person. The interface should reduce cognitive noise rather than display that power.

The purpose of a knowledge system is not to remember everything. It is to decide what is worth noticing.

04

The system

An intellectual sequence, not a flowchart.

  1. Capture A page, a case, a sentence worth keeping.
  2. Organize Place it where it can be found without taxonomy theater.
  3. Connect Name the few relationships that change understanding.
  4. Think Questions, doubts, and unfinished notes stay visible.
  5. Distill Keep the signal. Leave the rest behind.
  6. Publish Show only what is ready to be seen.

AI may help organize. Humans decide what matters.

05

Knowledge

What is currently being held.

06

Thinking

Questions that are still alive.

07

Projects

Knowledge becoming work.

08

Observatory

Signals worth paying attention to. Not a feed.

09

The person

This is a personal knowledge environment.

Notes are written elsewhere. These pages show only what is worth noticing in public. Replace this paragraph when a first-person introduction is ready.
